Long County Traffic Court Records
Traffic in Long County moves through two local courts. State Court takes county traffic outside the city route. Ludowici Municipal Court handles city traffic and ordinance matters. A citation marked Long County can still belong to Municipal Court. Read the court name before anything else.
What the file may hold: the citation itself, events, the setting, a plea or disposition, orders, costs, payment status, and certified papers. The Long State payment site is not a full docket viewer. Government Window serves as a payment and lookup lead too. Neither proves every case event is online.
| Citation names | Court | Start |
|---|---|---|
| Long County State Court | State Court | longcountytickets.com |
| Ludowici Municipal Court | Municipal Court | Government Window |
Long County State Citation Portal
The Sheriff court page links to the Long State site. Its opening screen offers a Citation # field plus an alternate Drivers License # field. Below those sit Payment History, Clear, and Cancel. A match can then lead through Payment Information, case selection, Review Payment, an amount, and Pay in Full or Partial Payment when enabled.
| Area | Observed control | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Lookup | Citation #; Drivers License # | No local number format captured |
| Navigation | Next; Payment History; Clear; Cancel | Not a docket history |
| Payment | Review; full or enabled partial payment | Real match required |
Fine amounts, court-date results, certified-copy options, and document images appear only after entering a real citation number. Those fields do not exist for casual browsing, and no one should guess them.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Treat the citation itself as the primary source. Georgia keeps no central municipal ticket database. The official municipal page routes each city to its own vendor, and Long State maintains a separate route.
- Read the issuing court, citation number, date, time, and appearance language.
- For State Court, use longcountytickets.com and the citation field.
- For Ludowici, select Traffic Tickets in Government Window.
- If lookup fails, call the named clerk and ask if the citation has posted.
- Ask about counter, mail, contest, payment, and certified-copy steps.
State Court answers at 912-545-2123. For Ludowici, use the number printed on the citation. A historical notice lists 912-545-2832. The city directory lists 912-545-0038, so confirm the live line. The Sheriff can point you to the right place but is not the case-status desk.
In-person and mail steps also go to the named court. The county publishes no Long-specific mail or fax protocol for traffic copies, so call first before sending funds or papers. Ask the court clerk for a certified disposition rather than using the county administrative Open Records form unless custody is confirmed.
Long County Municipal Vendor Split
Ludowici Government Window offers tiles for Traffic Tickets, Property Taxes, and Utility Bills, and picking the wrong one is an easy slip. The ticket route requires human verification before it goes further, so what lies past that point stays unlisted; that is not proof no fields exist. The Georgia Courts municipal locator confirms that no central municipal ticket database exists in the state.

The source confirms why State and Ludowici searches stay separate.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
Let the newest citation, subpoena, or court notice control. Per the Sheriff, State Court meets on the second and fourth Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. unless otherwise notified. That recurring calendar does not place every ticket in the next session.
| Court | State or Ludowici Municipal as printed. |
|---|---|
| Citation | Use the exact paper identifier. Confirm from citation |
| Date | Use the newest case-specific notice. |
| Appearance | Check whether payment is allowed or attendance is mandatory. |
| Status | Confirm any reset, payment, or disposition. |
When a date stays unclear, call the named court. A Ludowici historical notice says the citation or subpoena date controls, but confirm current practice directly.
Long County Session Versus Citation
A recurring session and a case setting answer different questions. The monthly pattern tells you when State Court usually sits; the citation tells you when one person must act. A portal balance never cancels a printed appearance rule.
Date rule: the newest case notice or clerk confirmation outranks a recurring schedule, payment screen, or old notice.
A reset moves the date, and it is not a dismissal. Keep the changed notice and verify the latest setting with the court.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Georgia allows an eligible ticket without mandatory appearance to be resolved before court by accepting the penalty and paying. The state treats that payment as a guilty plea. If attendance is mandatory, no portal excuses it.
| Choice | Verify | Record effect |
|---|---|---|
| Pay | Court, charge, amount, deadline, fee | Guilty plea under state guidance |
| Contest | Date, place, plea process | Case proceeds to a setting |
| Mandatory appearance | Exact court instructions | Payment does not waive attendance unless confirmed |
Call the court for the exact fine, cost, balance, extension, or a non-online method; the county posts no standard Long amount.
Missed date: the court may ask DDS to suspend a license. DDS says FTA suspension generally takes effect 28 days after notice. Verify the court release after resolution.
Long County Traffic Payment Limits
A processor receipt proves a transaction and nothing more. It will not supply every docket entry, a certified disposition, or proof that DDS updated. Partial payment shows up only when enabled. Read merchant, service-fee, refund, and dispute terms first.
The Five Point flow reached from the State site asks for merchant and service-fee acknowledgements. It also carries chargeback, dispute, refund, and recall terms. Card or bank details belong only in the secure vendor form. Keep them out of any record request. Where several cases match, compare the court and citation before choosing one. Save the receipt. But obtain the court's disposition when an authenticated outcome is required.
Never copy card, bank, license, or private ticket data into a public example. Share only the court, public identifier, date, disposition, and copy request.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
The court file and the DDS driver record live with separate custodians. The State or Municipal clerk maintains the case, while DDS maintains driving history, suspension status, points, and conviction reporting.
| Record | Custodian | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Court file | State or Municipal clerk | Citation, events, plea, disposition, orders, certified papers |
| Driver record | Georgia DDS | History, points, suspensions, reported convictions |
A receipt does not prove DDS updated anything. A DDS record does not replace a certified court disposition.
Long County DDS Report Boundary
DDS monthly conviction reports are aggregate court-reporting documents, so they cannot look up one Long County ticket or supply its case file. The DDS report index displays those monthly resources.

The image shows the boundary between aggregate reports and an individual court case.
Copies and Fees
The county publishes no local fine schedule, processor fee, State certified-copy fee, or Ludowici copy schedule, so ask the named court for current amounts. DDS charges sit separate from court fines and costs.
| Charge | Finding |
|---|---|
| State fine and costs | Confirm from match or clerk |
| Ludowici fine | Confirm with Municipal Court |
| Service fee | Disclosed in vendor flow; amount not captured |
| Certified disposition | Price through court clerk |
| DDS FTA reinstatement | $90; not a Long court fine |
A payment receipt is not the same as a clerk-certified disposition.
Long County Missed-Date Recovery
Missed a court date in Long County on a traffic ticket? Call the court listed on the citation first. Ask the clerk what needs to be filed, paid, or rescheduled, and whether the court has sent an FTA release to DDS yet. Keep proof of everything you do. The court and DDS keep separate systems, and a change in one may not show up in the other right away.
Under DDS rules, FTA means you failed to appear or respond. The clock starts when DDS receives the court's notice, not on your original hearing day. That is why resolution has to start with the court. The clerk must handle the case and submit the release before DDS will clear the driver record. If the two records still disagree, a pending transmission is often the reason. Once the court side is settled, confirm your record with DDS.
One caution. Paying a fine is not enough by itself. It does not fix a mandatory appearance, a warrant, or a suspension. Follow the clerk's current steps. Treat DDS as the place to check only the license side of things.
